Tyler Perry’s family is seeking answers after Perry 26-year-old nephew Gavin Porter, allegedly hung himself in prison.  However, his family does not believe these accusations.

Porter has been in jail since 2016 for allegedly shooting and killing his father. He pled no contest to manslaughter and was sentence to twenty years.

According to TMZ, Porter was found dead in his cell Tuesday night at a prison facility near St. Helena Parish in Louisiana.  Gavin immediate family members were alerted by prison officials that he had hung himself with a bedsheet while placed in solitary confinements.

Porter was placed in solitary as a result of an altercation with another inmate. Police guards allegedly say they checked on Porter around 6pm and he was fine. However, after checking in again at 8 pm, TMZ reports Porter as already dead and hung himself with bedsheets. The family was told that no foul play was included, however Perry family isn’t buying it.
