For the week ending on May 23rd, 2019 Tyler, The Creator’s latest album, IGOR debuts at No. 1. This is an impressive follow up to the young rapper’s previous album Flower Boy that debuted at No. 2 a week after its release.
According to Hip Hop Numbers, Tyler is the first rapper in history to go No. 1 with an album he produced and arranged by himself with no co-production or co-producer credit at all. Shortly after the news broke out Tyler tweeted, “honestly didn’t think people would enjoy this album based on a lot of thing, so again, thank you, i mean it”. Although IGOR is entirely self produced, it includes a number of collaborations with artists such as Playboi Carti, Lil Uzi Vert, Solange, Kanye West, CeeLo Green, and Pharrell Williams just to name a few.
