While R. Kelly and his lawyer are fighting to have him released from jail due to his health issues, the prosecution is working to keep him behind bars.
R.Kelly has been accused of threatening and blackmailing the families of his alleged victims. According to court documents, the prosecution show court letters from Kelly to unnamed accusers in which he states that he will release “potentially embarrassing photographs” if she pursued a criminal case against him.
The prosecution also put a stop to Kelly’s claim that his learning disability would not allow him to write those letters by presenting screenshots of Kelly’s conversation with the victim and the pictures that he planned on releasing.
Kelly has been in jail since July and has been charged with sexual assault of underage women. Kelly is facing up to 195 years in jail.
