Walmart is taking legal action against Kanye West.

As reported on CNN, Kanye released a logo that resembles Walmart’s. The company filed a notice of opposition on April 21 to the US Patent and Trademark Office against Kanye’s Yeezy apparel brand. Walmart’s statement said, “Walmart believes the logo design depicted in the Yeezy Application is confusingly similar to Walmart’s well-known spark logo design.”

Both logos have a sun shape. The difference is that Walmart’s lines are thick, and Kanye’s are smaller thin dots. Walmart has been using their “sun-like” logo since 2007. Yeezy filed trademark documents for his proposed logo last year. Take a look at the designs:

According to a UBS report published in February, the “Count Your Blessings” rapper’s sneaker partnership with Adidas and the clothing line with the Gap is worth $3.2 billion to $4.7 billion. The article notes they reached out to Kanye for a comment but didn’t hear back from him.
