Who Knew? These Celebs have Gained EGOT Status

There is always an instant gratification when you win an award.

It represents all of the hard work, time and dedication that a person has put in, especially if you are a multi-talented celebrity.

As a celebrity there are many awards may come your way but are four prestigious ones that many have acquired throughout their career.

These awards are an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony. Each of these have a special meaning behind them.

Celebrities like Jay Z, Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Chris Brown, Lin Manuel Miranda, and more may have received one or more awards, there are a select few that have receive all four and gaining EGOT status.

 

John Legend:

Legend recently made history by becoming the first African American and youngest male to gain EGOT status. The singer/actor received an Emmy for his performance in Jesus Christ Superstar.

Whoopi Goldberg:

Acting Veteran, Whoopi Goldberg receive her first award, (Grammy) in 1985 for Best Comedy Recording of Whoopi Goldberg. She later received an Oscar for her role in Ghost, and in 2002 she received her Emmy for Beyond Tara: The Extraordinary Life of Hattie McDaniels and Tony for Thoroughly Modern Millie.

Harry Belafonte:

Actor and activist, Harry Belafonte received an honorary Oscar in 2014 giving him EGOT status.

James Earl Jones:

James Earl Jones has being acting for decades and he officially became an EGOT winner when he received an honorary Oscar in 2012.
