McDonald’s has decided to choose the health-conscious route following the success of its competitors.

The company announced on Thursday that they will launch a plant-based PLT burger as a 12- week test. This will take place in 28 restaurants across Southwestern Ontario, Canada.

Ann Wahlgren, McDonald’s VP of Global Menu Strategy said in a press release, “McDonald’s has a proud legacy of fun, delicious, and crave-able food and now, we’re extending that to a test of the juicy, plant-based burger. We’ve been working on our recipe and now we’re ready to hear feedback from our customers.”
