‘The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul’ has a documentary coming out about her.
The untitled film is currently in production from Amazon studio and Entertainment One. It is also set to be directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Vanessa Roth. The documentary will allow Blige to talk about her personal life experiences since releasing her “My Life” album 25 years ago.
A statement was released about the film that said, “The film provides a personal and never before seen look into the emotional journey of Mary J. Blige’s past struggles with poverty, abuse, addiction, and heartbreak.”
Blige is also set to be an executive producer on for the film through her production company, Blue Butterfly.
There is no release date for the film as of yet.
