God, step in.

Countless Ye fans, resellers, and hypebeasts were eagerly waiting for this day to purchase newly released adidas Yeezy sneakers, runners, and slides. Today (August 2) is marked as the official day for sneakerheads to celebrate the shoe line in North America since 2019.

Surely Kanye West is also excited about the launch day, considering that he is the owner of the brand. At least, we thought he would be excited.

In an Instagram post by Complex Sneakers and Complex, Ye stated that adidas made up Yeezy Day without his approval along with other unapproved occurrences. Take a look.

Despite the day seemingly being a tactic for other competing brands like Nike or New Balance, Yeezy Day is the day for fans to have the best chance at securing some of the most valuable and sought-after Yeezy sneakers in the lineup. This includes unreleased models and the return of some crowd favorites. Though, this doesn’t appear to matter if the owner of the line didn’t share his approval of the idea.

However, this isn’t the first time that Ye and the corporation had butted heads. Back in June, Ye called them out for ripping off his own Yeezy slide after the company released their Adilette 22 slide.

The similarities between the two slides were quite uncanny – despite the unique Yeezy slide shape. In the deleted Instagram post he wrote, “I’m not standing for this blatant copying no more.”

In the recent DM that Complex posted today, West subtly referenced this situation. “When I originally ordered adidas to make more Yeezy slides, the GM lied to my face and said they didn’t have the capacity,” Ye continued, “Meanwhile adidas was copying my slides and making their own version of the Yeezy slide.” Yikes.

With these ongoing allegations, is it possible for Ye to halt his collaboration with Adidas and Yeezy?
