If you love Royce da 5’9” and DJ Premier, you’re even more excited when the two get together as PRhyme.
Duo Royce da 5’9” and DJ Premier have returned with the second-installment of their collaborative album, “PRhyme 2.”
Both pioneers in the rap world, the project is nothing short of what you’d expect from the Slaughterhouse rapper and Gangstarr producer. Their debut album was released back in 2014, under their own label, PRhyme Records.
“Flirt,” featuring 2 Chainz is one of the hottest singles from the album. Royce begins his verse by mirroring the structure of his friend and accomplice, Eminem, on the well-known intro on “Cleaning Out My Closet.”
2 Chainz drops a number of quotable lyrics on the track, as well as touches on some of the Twitter drama between Lil Uzi Vert and DJ Drama.

Royce is renowned for his lycrism and Preemo has perfected the art of soulful raps, however, the album suprisingly embraces the new styles of younger generations of hip-hop.
Royce da 5’9”’s most recent video has been taking over social media this week, after Royce spit a mind-blowing freestyle on the Funkmaster Flex show. You can check out here.
Since PRhyme 2 is premiering a week early via NPR, Royce explained his reasoning behind the track, “Everyday Struggle,” a reference to the Complex show.
“The more balance in hip-hop, the better,” he says. “When you say ‘mumble rap,’ who are you talking about? Rappers who can’t rap that well? Because there’s a such thing as being really good at what you do, but you’re not a lyricist. It doesn’t give me the authority to critique you as a lyricist if you’re not claiming to be a lyricist. It doesn’t make me an expert. It just means I do one thing; you do something else.”
The album will be released everywhere March 16th. The project also features tracks from Dave East, Rapsody, and Big K.R.I.T.
