Reports suggest that 50 Cent and DJ Khaled reconciled following their encounter at a charity golf tournament hosted by MLB legend Reggie Jackson.
During the event earlier this week in Port St. Lucie, Florida, the two shared a handshake and hug before taking to the course. The New Orleans hitmaker conveyed his admiration to 50, saying, “Nothing but love and respect.” As a sponsor of the event, 50 Cent highlighted his Sire Spirits brand in a video recap. The clip showcased his warm exchange with DJ Khaled and included a glimpse of Travis Scott at the celebrity golf classic.
The 2005 Incident That Sparked a Feud: Yayo, Khaled, and the Tension with Fat Joe
The tension between 50 Cent and DJ Khaled can be traced back to 2005, when Khaled declined to shake hands with Tony Yayo amid G-Unit’s feud with Fat Joe, a longtime friend of Khaled.
In a 2023 appearance on Drink Champs, Yayo shared: “I had ‘[So] Seductive’ dropping. I didn’t know nothing about the music business. We beefing with [Fat Joe]. You fuck with Fat Joe, Khaled ain’t fucking with you.” “I got my record I’m trying to promote, so they like, ‘Yo, you gotta got to Miami … You gotta go to DJ Khaled’ … I said, ‘Yo bro, I don’t think this is a good idea, man.’ It’s the industry bro, they’ll set you up!” He added, “So we go up there. I told these n-ggas, ‘Yo, don’t take me to DJ Khaled. Fat Joe, that’s his man. He damn near Terror Squad.’”
Yayo alleged that Khaled faked a handshake, shouted his signature “DJ Khaled” catchphrase, and told him to “get the fuck outta here.” The producer later backed the claim during an appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast. He stated, “Him and my man don’t get along. [Fat Joe] is my brother, for real. I was just saying to myself, ‘This is gonna be hard for me.’” “Because if I would have completely embraced him, I probably wouldn’t have been able to sleep at night. And if I did, I would have called [Fat Joe] immediately like, ‘This is what happened.’ That’s how much I care.” Khaled then remarked how we would’ve handled the situation now, saying, “I probably would have did the same thing, but I would have tried to put myself where I wouldn’t have to be in that room.”
Although one of 50 Cent’s more under-the-radar feuds, it didn’t stop him from engaging in his typical antics—like in 2009 when he seemingly recorded himself making threats toward Khaled’s mother.
