A$AP Rocky made it clear he wasn’t letting certain details slip during his ongoing assault trial. The rapper caused a stir in court when he abruptly stopped his longtime friend and witness, A$AP Twelvyy, from revealing the meaning behind “AWGE”—a term closely tied to Rocky’s brand.
During Friday’s proceedings, prosecutors presented a photo of Rocky’s bed, which featured the letters “AWGE” displayed on it. When they asked Twelvyy what it stood for, Rocky quickly interjected, shouting, “Don’t say!” The unexpected outburst briefly disrupted the trial, as Twelvyy remained tight-lipped, only responding, “It means AWGE.”
Prosecutors weren’t satisfied with his vague response and urged the judge to demand a clearer answer. Meanwhile, Rocky’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, intervened and requested a private sidebar with the judge, further adding to the legal drama.
Just as tensions rose in the courtroom, Rihanna made a grand entrance, adding even more intrigue to the moment. Though she didn’t speak to reporters outside, she warmly embraced Rocky in the hallway before they both returned inside.
Despite prosecutors pushing the witness for more information, Twelvyy never gave up the meaning behind AWGE. The creative collective, launched by Rocky in 2014, has always kept its name’s true significance a mystery, even stating on its website, “Rules: #1 Never reveal what AWGE means.”
While the trial continues, one thing is certain—Rocky remains determined to keep his secrets under wraps.
