Adewele Akinnuoye-Agbaje Talks “Farming” & Racist Experience, Adebisi in ‘OZ’, Thor & More

Adewele Akinnuoye-Agbaje

You may have seen Adewele Akinnuoye-Agbaje in your favorite films and TV shows but it’s this project is one that’s near and dear to his heart.

The Nigerian is making his directorial debut in “Farming”, an incredible film about his life as a baby to a teen and being sent to a white British home in the late 60’s early 70’s. The process was called farming, where Nigerian parents rented their children in exchange for money to get through education, build their business until the loan is paid off.

The touching film follows Adewele’s time since birth to a teen where he encounters racism where he grows up ultimately leading him to join the local white gangs as a fighter just for his own safety.

Adewele’s story is one of resilience and that strength has made him the man he is today — a successful actor who can now add directing to his long resume.

And believe me, the resume is long.

His career spans decades and has found him in memorable roles like Simon Adebisi on the classic HBO show “Oz”, to playing superheroes/villians in Thor, Suicide Squad, acted in The Mummy Returns, Game of Thrones and so much more.
