Atlanta rapper Akbar V’s caption details sustained domestic violence and acute distress after an attack she attributes to her husband, Shakeem “Bean” Taylor, and a woman he allegedly sees.

She describes repeated physical assaults — once serious enough to require hospitalization — followed by the same partner asking her for money. The message alleges the earliest documented assault landed her in Jefferson Hospital, and a subsequent violent incident occurred on her birthday.

She says she planned to file a police report, but the abuse continued, and she now threatens either criminal prosecution (“Ima get him in jail”) or, alarmingly, killing him (“unalived”) if he continues to victimize or play the victim. She also names postpartum depression as an added burden, and ends by asking for prayers while saying she is exhausted and overwhelmed.

Taken together, the post shows several classic features of domestic abuse: physical violence, betrayal and financial coercion, cycles of harm and reconciliation. The emotional wear that can make leaving difficult. Her mention of being “jumped” with another woman suggests multiple assailants.

The hospital stay and visible bruising indicate bodily harm that could support criminal charges such as assault or battery. Her anger and talk of extreme retaliation underscore how high-risk and traumatic these situations can become.

If the goal is to understand options or help, the priority is safety and documentation. Seek immediate medical attention for injuries and ask for records. Preserve evidence: photos of wounds, timestamps, messages, and the Instagram post itself.

Report assaults to police when safe to do so. Law enforcement and the county coroner (if applicable) will create official records.

Consider a protection order; domestic-violence advocates can explain that process. Because Akbar V mentions postpartum depression, contacting a medical provider or mental-health professional is also critical.

National resources in the U.S. include the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) or text START to 88788 for confidential support. Local shelters, legal-aid clinics, and hospital social workers can assist with safety planning, emergency relocation, and legal options.
