Aubrey O’Day chose to speak directly to her fans on Friday, October 3rd, as the world awaited the outcome of Diddy’s sentencing. Posting first to Instagram and later to X, she shared a short video filmed in Italy. Standing in a red dress with her hair flowing, the singer gave a heartfelt message. “Prayers up from Italy!” she said. “Today’s a really big day.” She paused with a long sigh before continuing, “Breathe… Let’s hope we see some justice, finally. Love you guys! [And] thinking of you, Cassie. Love you!”
Meanwhile, in New York, the courtroom was filled with Diddy’s family and loved ones as Judge Arun Subramanian prepared to deliver his decision. The same judge who oversaw the trial is now responsible for sentencing. Diddy had been convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. Other charges, including racketeering and sex trafficking, did not result in convictions. Reports suggest his legal team planned to show an 11-minute video of his philanthropic efforts, and Diddy himself might speak before the judge finalizes his ruling.
O’Day’s comments come after months of her openly reacting to developments in the case. When federal agents raided Diddy’s homes in March, she shared a post that read, “What you sow, you shall reap. I pray this emboldens all of US victims to finally speak on what we have endured… There is no ‘too soon’ on this one, just ‘too late.’” She also reminded the public that she had been warning people about him for twenty years. Her history with Diddy stretches back to her time in Danity Kane, where she claimed she was removed for refusing expectations unrelated to her artistry. More recently, when Diddy was arrested in September, O’Day once again went online to call it a step toward justice.
