Rapper Blacc Zacc will remain in federal custody after a South Carolina judge denied his motion for bond in a criminal case involving allegations of racketeering, violence, and murder-for-hire conduct tied to an organization prosecutors describe as a criminal enterprise.
U.S. District Judge Kevin McDonald issued the ruling May 19 following a detention hearing held six days earlier. In a nine-page detention order, the court concluded that no release conditions could adequately protect the public despite finding Blacc Zacc unlikely to flee before trial.
“The evidence shows he led a violent criminal enterprise,” Judge McDonald wrote, according to the order denying bond.
Federal prosecutors allege Chapman operated Dirty Money Entertainment, or DME, as an organization that extended beyond music activities. The government claims members allegedly acted as drug couriers, armed robbers and enforcers throughout South Carolina.
During the May 13 proceeding, prosecutors presented testimony accusing Chapman of directing a failed drive-by shooting and arranging the 2021 killing of an individual identified in court filings as CW. Investigators testified Chapman allegedly coordinated violent acts remotely through phone communications and could continue directing criminal activity if released.

The court also credited concerns raised by CW’s mother, who expressed fear that Chapman could retaliate against witnesses or others connected to the case.
Chapman remains detained without bond as federal proceedings continue. The court has not scheduled a trial date or future hearing publicly.
Federal authorities arrested Chapman in October 2025. Prosecutors continue pursuing charges that could expose him to the death penalty pending authorization from the U.S. Department of Justice.
Before his arrest, Chapman built a profile in Southern hip-hop through projects including 1st Round Draft Pick, High-Class Trapper and New Blacc City. His visibility expanded after signing with Interscope Records in 2020.
The detention order also carries personal consequences for Chapman. The rapper could miss the birth of his second child with Renni Rucci, who reportedly is expecting to give birth in July.
