There is no doubt in our minds that Cardi B and Offset have been giving major relationship goals fever for the past couple of months, especially after their “Baecation” in Turks and Caicos for her birthday. But we’re definitely no stranger to the cheating scandal that occurred last year.
The Grammy-award winning rapper spilled the details to Vogue for its January issue on how her and her husband managed to overcome their adversity following Offset’s infidelity.
During the Vogue interview, Cardi B kept it real of course and confirmed that Offset did cheat on her. She confessed how difficult it was to handle the whole situation, especially after it created an entire social media frenzy which gave their relationship major attention! When Cardi B decided to forgive him through it all, she was heavily criticized by her fans and followers.
In the interview she said, “When me and my husband got into our issues—you know, he cheated and everything—and I decided to stay with him and work together with him, a lot of people were so mad at me; a lot of women felt disappointed in me.”
And then went on to say, “If you love somebody and you stop being with them, and you’re depressed and social media is telling you not to talk to that person because he cheated, you’re not really happy on the inside until you have the conversation. Then, if you get back with them, it’s like, how could you? You let all of us down. People that be in marriages for years, when they say till death do us part, they not talking about little arguments like if you leave the fridge open. That’s including everything.”
Cardi B then opens up about her faith in God, which allowed her to forgive her husband Offset.
She says “I believe in forgiveness. I prayed on it. Me and my husband, we prayed on it. We had priests come to us. And we just came to an understanding like, bro, it’s really us against the world.”
Through it all Cardi B still believes that monogamy is “the only way”, and after the help of prayer and a priest she was able to look past his adultery. And, not to mention, included “I’ll beat your ass if you cheat on me.” Well, hopefully there will be no more scandals in the future between these two.
