Cardi B’s long-awaited second album is finally on the horizon, if a few key features come through in time. During a recent Instagram Live session, the Bronx rapper opened up to fans about the holdup, explaining that she’s still waiting on several collaborators to submit their verses or hooks. While she tried to keep it lighthearted, Cardi made it clear she’s feeling the pressure. “I really need these fucking features. And it’s like I’m not really trying to press or go crazy on these artists because I love them down,” she said. “But it’s like come on now! I need that! I need that right now! Y’all don’t want to miss this opportunity. I’ll sing this shit myself! But I really need y’all and I need y’all to hurry up and I love y’all.”
She didn’t hold back about how passionate she feels about the project either. “It’s iconic! This album is so good! I put my whole pussy on it! I rapped with the bottom of my pussy! So hurry up!” she added.
Earlier this month, Cardi compared the upcoming project to her Grammy-winning debut Invasion of Privacy, saying she believes the new album might just top it. “I know IOP is of course one of the best albums ever, but I really think my second album is beating it,” she said. “I don’t know why. I just really believe so. Nah, let me not talk. I’m not tryna get jumped by you muthafuckas!”
Though the title and release date remain under wraps, Cardi has teased a strong lineup of guests. “The features on my album are really good,” she said, noting some will be familiar faces while others will be brand-new collabs. Despite a pregnancy delay, she’s back in the studio and aiming to deliver in 2025.
