Cardi B faces mounting legal scrutiny as she readies her highly anticipated album, Am I The Drama?, for a fall release. A lawsuit filed by artists Joshua Fraustro, known as Sten Joddi, and Miguel Aguilar, also known as Kemikal956, alleges that her new single, “Enough (Miami),” lifts substantial elements from their 2021 track, Greasy FryBread.
The plaintiffs are seeking an injunction to prevent “Enough (Miami)” from appearing on the album. Their attorney, Robert Flores, contends that including the track would cause irreparable harm to his clients. “The damages to plaintiffs will not only be irreparable, but almost impossible to calculate,” Flores said. He added that removing a single song from a 23-track album would be far less damaging than allowing a potential copyright violation to reach the public.
Should the court grant the injunction, “Enough (Miami)” could be pulled from streaming services and barred from any performance, distribution, or monetization until the dispute is resolved. Its ultimate presence on Am I The Drama? remains unclear.
Album Release Timeline
Flores asserts that “Enough (Miami)” plays a key role in the album’s promotion, though no official tracklist has confirmed its inclusion. Pre-save options on Spotify and other platforms currently omit the single. It remains uncertain whether Cardi B or Atlantic Records will respond publicly or through court filings. Fans, meanwhile, are anticipating her next single, “Imaginary Players,” slated for release on Friday, August 15, offering a preview of the album’s sound ahead of its official September 19 debut.
Cardi B has moved to dismiss the lawsuit, arguing that Fraustro and Aguilar failed to properly register their copyright. The resolution of this case could affect both the album’s release schedule and content, though it remains uncertain whether the matter will be settled before the official drop. As this story develops, further updates are likely, adding new layers of complexity to the rollout of Cardi B’s eagerly awaited project.
