After Mac Miller’s heartbreaking passing earlier this week, the hip-hop community came together to celebrate his life and legacy. Many fellow rappers began sharing their favorite story or memory about the well-loved Pittsburgh artist, including friend Chance The Rapper.
The Chicago MC dug up a rare demo that was inspired by Mac Miller. It is one of his “first ever recordings,” and Chance has been making music for quite some time now. Chance was a huge fan of Mac’s early on, and he credits Mac for being one of the first in the game to support him. Mac Miller took Chano on his second tour ever.
I dont know what to say Mac Miller took me on my second tour ever. But beyond helping me launch my career he was one of the sweetest guys I ever knew. Great man. I loved him for real. Im completely broken. God bless him.

The footage he shared shows Chance rapping over the beat to one of Mac Miller’s classic tracks “Kool Aid & Frozen Pizza.” This later on evolved into the official version of “Brain Cells” that was included on #10Day project. Listen to it below.
It took me a long time to find it but I did. I was soooo big of a fan that one of my first ever recordings, a song that would get remade over and over til it ended up on 10Day, was over a beat you rapped on. Koolaid and Frozen Pizza birthed Brain Cells.https://t.co/28bDdP5Iog
