This isn’t good.
One of the sport’s world’s biggest star is being investigated after a woman is making sexual misconduct claims.
The alleged attack happened back in December. Reported on NY Times, “the woman making the allegation said it occurred at the Beacon Hotel, an establishment attached to a business park on the edge of Dublin.” In addition, “the police investigating the attack retrieved evidence from the room McGregor stayed in and have also secured closed-circuit camera footage.”
The UFC fighter hasn’t been charged with a crime but he was arrested back in Janurary. He was questioned by Ireland police and then later released, pending a further investigation.
Hours before the sexual misconduct reports came to light, he announced on Twitter that he’s retiring.
Hey guys quick announcement, I’ve decided to retire from the sport formally known as “Mixed Martial Art” today.
I wish all my old colleagues well going forward in competition.
I now join my former partners on this venture, already in retirement.
