D.L. Hughley is throwing in the towel when it comes to any issues with comedian, Mo’Niqure.
TMZ reports the king of comedy is “done” with her after their public dispute over a contract for a show. The publication spoke to him, and when asked about Mo, he pretended he didn’t know who she was. He also said he didn’t hear that she apologized to his family after coming for his daughter.
Last month, Mo and D.L. had a show at the Comedy Explosion in Detroit. A video went viral of Mo’Nique putting D.L. on blast over a contract/headlining issue.
According to Mo’Nique, she was supposed to headline the show but didn’t. Mo’ told the crowd, “That’s what the motherf*cking contract says. Mo’Nique is to be the last motherf*cking person on the got damn stage. She is the headliner. That’s what I signed the contract for.”
D.L. fired back and said he was the headliner, according to his ticket stub. Things went left when Mo’ reshared an old interview clip showing D.L. talking about his initial reaction to his daughter telling him about an alleged sexual assault. He said he will “never forgive” himself for not immediately believing his daughter. He also went on to say Mo shared the video with the intent of creating her “own narrative.”
Since then, Mo has apologized to D.L.’s family but said she’s not apologizing to him. Mo’s sister, Millicent Imes, called her out for her behavior and said she was embarrassing the family. Complex reports she wrote,
“My Sister!! Stop the Madness!!! It’s not a good look. God has Shut you down before, and believe me he will do it again!!! Let’s start by staying on topic. YOU are and have been displacing your anger on the wrong people.” She continued,“Sis, you’re coming with the same story over and over again. If nothing changes, NOTHING CHANGES!!” Millicent continued. “Your career has been dead in the past, and now it’s about to come to LIFE and now you are killing it again and now the plug is about to be pulled on you and YOU are about to be CANCELED, Again..This time it’s Flatline.”
Hopefully, the two can leave the drama in the past and move on with their careers.
