In this day and age in music, almost every song you listen to is a remix from another song.
It’s rare for artists and producers to “create” an “original sound.”
A producer named DJ JMK produced the song “Choppa Style” back in 2000. He managed to get Choppa on the song and that’s how the hit was created.
DJ JMK is claiming that the song was sampled by Cardi B and City Girls for their song, “Twerk,” as well as Yo Gotti and French Montana for “Oh Yeah,” and Trouble’s song with City Girls, “She a Winner.”
He’s claiming that the duplicated version stole his melody and horn riff. It’s unclear how much he’s suing for but he’s looking to get compensated.
