Deion Sanders is known for confidence, flash and blunt honesty. But when it comes to his love life, the Colorado coach has usually stayed quiet.
That changed this week.
Sanders, a Pro Football Hall of Famer entering another offseason in Boulder, offered a rare glimpse into his relationship with actress Karrueche Tran. He spoke on a recent episode of his talk show, “We Got Time Today.”
Sanders credited Tran with bringing peace and joy during a demanding stretch. He described her as “a good woman” who has helped lift his spirits.
The public comments stood out because Sanders avoided the topic for months.
In late July, Sanders laughed off a question about Tran on Asante Samuel’s podcast. “We got a bad connection,” Sanders joked, pretending the call had dropped. “I can’t hear [you].”
Rumors had already been building. Tran appeared in emotional footage during Sanders’ health ordeal. The video showed her at his hospital bedside while he recovered from surgery.
A Relationship Revealed During a Difficult Year
Sanders has faced more than football pressure over the past year.
He disclosed a bladder cancer diagnosis during a news conference in late July. He later said he was cancer-free after a major medical procedure.
Tran’s presence during that time fueled speculation about their bond. In the past, she had kept her dating life mostly private.
During an earlier podcast appearance, Tran spoke about dating without naming Sanders. She said she was “having fun” and sounded guarded but upbeat.
She also suggested she is not looking to waste time. “I know what I want,” she said on that show.
Sanders and Tran later made their relationship public in late December, according to multiple reports.
Sanders’ personal news comes after a rough season at Colorado.
The Buffaloes finished 3-9, leaving fans restless and critics loud. Sanders has leaned on the transfer portal to reshape his roster. Reports said Colorado added 42 new players and landed a highly ranked incoming class.
Sanders has insisted his energy feels different this offseason. He has pointed to health, growth and stability.
And now, he has said the quiet part out loud.
