Roots Picnic Weekend was one to remember.

The weekend officially kicked off in Philadelphia, and one of the hottest pre-weekend gatherings brought together some of the biggest names in music, entertainment, business, and culture.

The annual D’USSÉ Fridays celebration at Mr. Ivy served as the unofficial launchpad for the city’s packed weekend festivities, drawing an impressive crowd that included Deon Cole, Jermaine Dupri, Fabolous, Lenny S, Adam Blackstone, Allen Iverson, Rory Farrell, Bryan-Michael Cox, Kenny Burns, DIXSON, Young Chris, Neef Bucks and more.

While the guest list was stacked, attendees were also greeted with a familiar favorite. McDonald’s partnered with the event to help fuel the night, serving up classic menu staples that quickly became a crowd favorite throughout the evening.

The atmosphere reflected everything that has made Roots Picnic a staple destination for creatives, entrepreneurs, artists, and tastemakers. Conversations flowed, relationships were built, and the energy carried well into the night as Philadelphia prepared for a weekend centered around music, culture, and community.

For many in attendance, the nostalgic presence of McDonald’s added an extra layer to the experience, bringing together familiar flavors and memorable moments in a setting that celebrated Black excellence and creativity.
