Desiigner has hit back at 50 Cent with a diss track after the G-Unit mogul explained why he chose not to sign the “Panda” rapper. Earlier this week, 50 Cent revealed he had the chance to sign Desiigner in 2016. This was during the peak of his breakout hit “Panda.” However, 50 decided against it after seeing the rapper had no follow-up hits in the works.

Not one to stay silent, Desiigner quickly responded by releasing a diss track. In a video posted from inside his car, the Brooklyn rapper can be seen reading lyrics from his phone. He captioned the video with “Response back to 50 Cent” and “POV: Another HIT.” In the diss, Desiigner takes aim at 50, rapping, “N**** talking that 50 Cent, I be talking 50 mil. I got signed to Kanye, lil n****, you was never worth a deal.”

Despite his efforts, the track failed to impress listeners. Fans flooded the comment section with criticism, mocking his delivery. One user commented, “This dude doesn’t even look confident reading the verse,” while another said, “Straight dookie water.” Others predicted that 50 Cent would clap back in style, with one fan writing, “50 bouta have a field day with this.”

Beyond the diss track, Desiigner continued to defend himself on Instagram, posting several Stories addressing 50’s remarks. He argued that while he may not have a catalog of massive hits, his live performances speak for themselves. “I might not have had every record that went diamond, but come to my shows and see how I activate the crowd,” he said. Desiigner also emphasized the rarity of achieving a diamond record, stating, “I’m one of the few artists in New York City out of Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn to go diamond.”

Though the diss track didn’t land as expected, Desiigner remains confident in his place in the industry.
