Social media speculates that Chris Brown sabotaged Quavo‘s concert in Bridgeport, Connecticut like 50 Cent did to Ja Rule in 2018 after videos went viral on Sunday (April 28) showing low attendance.
Fans speculate that the R&B artist followed 50 Cent’s strategy by buying out the venue, similar to 50 Cent buying the first 200 rows at a Ja Rule concert. The venue has not shared the amount of tickets sold for the concert. Chris Brown has not responded or acknowledged the videos at this time.
Quavo performed for the small crowd, who appeared to join together in the pit area of the venue. The “Congratulations” hitmaker performed the show with the same energy as his group member Offset’s set at the Hustle Music Festival in Romania over the weekend.
In January during Paris Fashion Week, Chris Brown and Quavo sat next to each other. Then in April, Chris Brown released a diss tracks called “Freak” and “Weakest Link” which escalated their beef. Quavo released diss tracks called “OHB” and “Tender” that referenced Saweetie, Karrueche Tran and Chris Brown’s history of domestic violence and drug use.
Chris Brown criticized Quavo’s new tracks, saying they were bad and didn’t even deserve a response. “Google Raps THAT SHIT IS POOOOOOOH,” wrote Brown on Instagram. “Damn and I was excited .. that shit don’t even need a response. Takeoff rap better. CMON QUAVIOUS.”
Chris Brown and Migos have been feuding for six years over Quavo’s interest in Brown’s ex-girlfriend, Karruche Tran. Tran began a brief relationship with Quavo before her long-term romance with football star Victor Cruz following Brown’s breakup.
At his peak, 50 Cent was known for beef with other rappers. He used strategic marketing and diss tracks to terrorize his opponents. Even today, he stays updated on social media and reacts to current beefs in the hip-hop industry.
Karrueche and Saweetie have both responded to the beef and references in music. Saweetie posted a screenshot of Quavo’s messages on Instagram.
Saweetie is currently in a relationship with YG, while Karruche is single.
