Sean “Diddy” Combs is reportedly asking to serve his recently issued prison sentence in New Jersey.

According reports, the hip-hop mogul’s legal team has filed a formal request asking Judge Arun Subramanian to recommend that Combs be placed at FCI Fort Dix, a low-security federal correctional facility in New Jersey.

Sentencing:

As previously reported, Diddy was sentenced on October 3, 2025, to four years and two months in prison after being convicted on two counts of transportation for prostitution. He was acquitted of more serious charges including racketeering and sex trafficking.

In the request, his attorneys argued that Fort Dix offers strong rehabilitation programs, drug-treatment options, and educational and vocational services that align with their client’s goals for reform. They also cited the facility’s proximity to New York as a key factor, noting that it would allow Combs’ family easier access for visitations.

While a judge may recommend a particular facility, the final decision lies with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, which ultimately determines where an inmate serves their sentence based on space, security level, and program availability.

Combs is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where he has remained in custody since his conviction. His time served there will count toward his overall sentence.

Cassie Speaks Out:

Following the sentencing Cassie’s lawyer, Doug Wigdor, released a statement reflecting on the outcome, saying, “While nothing can undo the trauma caused by Combs, the sentence imposed today recognizes the impact of the serious offenses he committed.”

He added that Cassie’s strength continues to inspire others, noting, “We are confident that with the support of her family and friends, Ms. Ventura will continue healing knowing that her bravery and fortitude have been an inspiration to so many.”
