Diddy and his legal team are fighting back against allegations that the mogul participated in revenge porn. On Friday (April 26), the Harlem native filed a motion to dismiss the claim because at the time of the incident — which is said to have taken place in 1991 — those certain laws didn’t exist.
Per the Associated Press, Combs denies allegations and claims that the alleged victim —Joi Dickerson-Deal —is trying to exploit The New York Adult Survivors Act, which temporarily extended the statute of limitations for survivors of sexual assault. Last year, Dickerson-Deal slapped Combs with a lawsuit where she claimed that Combs drugged and sexually assaulted her after a night out.
At the time, Dickerson-Deal would’ve only been around 19 years old. She also says that the Bad Boy CEO videotaped the assault and shared it with his industry peers.
This is just one of the impending legal battles that the hitmaker is fighting against. Last November, the producer’s former flame, Cassie Ventura, filed her own sexual assault suit against Combs. Within 24 hours, the two had settled for an undisclosed amount.
Diddy’s Mounting Allegations
Following that a bevy of alleged victims came forward, including one from a producer who’d worked with Combs on his Love album, and another woman who said he sexually assaulted her when she was 17 years old. A few weeks back, Combs’ Los Angeles and Miami homes were raided by Homeland Security. His attorney, Aaron Dyer, called the event a “gross overuse of military-level force.”
Dyer continued: “There is no excuse for the excessive show of force and hostility exhibited by authorities or the way his children and employees were treated. Mr. Combs was never detained but spoke to and cooperated with authorities.” He added that it was an “unprecedented ambush” that was “paired with an advanced, coordinated media presence.”
