Diddy has petitioned Judge Arun Subramanian for release on bail ahead of his October 3 sentencing, citing deteriorating conditions at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center. The motion signals a new chapter in the artist’s ongoing legal battle and raises questions about treatment standards inside the federal facility.

Diddy was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges after a two-month federal trial this summer, but the court found him guilty on two counts of transportation for prostitution. In their latest filing, his attorneys argue he’s being singled out, writing, “The government is determined to impose a unique and severe punishment on him for his past involvement with prostitution services, reflecting a broader pattern of unjust targeting that has persisted since the outset of this flawed investigation.”

The court letter outlines troubling allegations about life inside MDC, including claims of insufficient medical care, frequent lockdowns, and unsanitary food. “MDC regularly serves expired food that is infested with maggots, and lockdowns are prevalent despite official assurances to the contrary,” the letter states. The attorneys also cite recent federal budget cuts as having worsened conditions across the board.

The timing of the bail request comes amid renewed speculation over whether Diddy could be granted clemency should Donald Trump return to office. In a recent interview with Newsmax, Trump touched on his past relationship with Diddy. “When I ran for office, he was very hostile,” Trump said, suggesting that political friction had complicated the dynamic.

As the October sentencing approaches, Diddy’s legal team continues to press the court for relief, painting his case as one not only of personal consequence but of broader systemic issues.
