Sean “Diddy” Combs has been found guilty of two federal charges following a trial that gripped the music world.
After 13 hours of deliberation over three days, a Manhattan jury delivered its verdict, closing a tense six-week courtroom saga. Combs was convicted of violating the Mann Act for transporting singer Cassie Ventura and another woman, known as Jane, across state lines for illegal sexual purposes. He was acquitted of racketeering conspiracy and two counts of sex trafficking involving both women.
Diddy appeared solemn as the jury entered. His hands were pressed together, his legal team and family at his side. The verdict came after prosecutors called 34 witnesses, including law enforcement, assistants, former partners, and alleged victims. The testimony painted a disturbing portrait of abuse and manipulation behind Combs’ polished public image.
Cassie Ventura testified for four days. Pregnant during the trial, she described alleged years of physical abuse, emotional control, and being forced into drug-fueled sexual encounters with male escorts. She said she felt trapped in degrading situations, testifying, “I didn’t feel like I had much of a choice.”
Rapper Kid Cudi testified about his relationship with Ventura and the alleged violence she endured. A former assistant, using the pseudonym Mia, said Combs assaulted her multiple times and made her clean up after what she called the couple’s “hotel nights.” Jane shared that Diddy’s constant demands left her exhausted and humiliated.
The verdict deals a crushing blow to Diddy’s reputation. Once seen as untouchable, he now faces significant legal consequences. As sentencing nears, the case shines a harsh light on power, abuse, and accountability in the music industry.
It has sparked renewed debate about how the industry protects its most vulnerable and who bears responsibility for the harm done behind closed doors.
