Drake found himself in the middle of fresh controversy after an unreleased cut from his upcoming project Iceman surfaced online. The leak came to light when two Pump.fun streamers, who go by Bagwork, played the track during a broadcast. Their stream quickly spread, and before long, Drake was on the phone with Adin Ross, demanding answers about how the song ended up in their hands.
A snippet of their conversation has been making the rounds, showing a visibly irritated Drake trying to get to the bottom of the situation. Ross asked if he really did not know the streamers involved, to which Drake shot back, “Fuck no, I just asked you who they are. What the fuck.” Ross attempted to distance himself from the ordeal and insisted he had nothing to do with the leak. He even tried to lighten the mood by asking Drake if he could hear the song too. Drake’s response was blunt: “I don’t even know what the fuck you guys are talking about.”
Although Drake’s frustration seemed real, there is growing speculation that this might be part of a calculated move leading up to the release of Iceman. He has long been known for turning unexpected situations into artistic statements, using social media, fashion, and staged moments to build anticipation.
Hints of what could come next appeared at his Berlin concert on September 11, where he stepped out in a jacket featuring country star Morgan Wallen’s portrait on the back. Days later, Drake posted a resurfaced clip from 2016 in which Wallen spoke about his dream concert lineup. “Hopefully I’m the headliner, I would put Eric Church, Chris Cornell… I would probably put Drake there,” Wallen said at the time. Drake captioned it with, “My brother living his words of manifestation fr.”
Fans already saw the two link up when Wallen appeared in Drake’s 2023 video for “You Broke My Heart,” and now many are convinced a collaboration is locked in for Iceman.
