Reports indicate that Drake has returned to the studio, signaling a fresh start as he kicks off the new year. On Tuesday night (Jan. 7), Drake shared to Instagram a vibrant update, posting a glimpse of his studio session. Sporting a crochet hat, a baby blue silk shirt, and a matching Chrome Hearts travel bag, the rapper appeared ready to dive back into work.
Drake captioned the photo, “I thought this through.” A separate image captured him sporting a chain shaped like a dollar sign, paired with nails painted in the same design. While these symbols have been teasing his forthcoming collaborative album with PartyNextDoor, fans are still left in suspense as the project has yet to receive an official release date.
Drake’s ‘Fighting Irish’ Freestyle Sparks Frenzy Among Peers and Fans
Nonetheless, Drake’s contemporaries flooded the comments, buzzing with excitement over the prospect of fresh tracks. Among those chiming in were Sexyy Red, Reese LaFlare, Blocboy JB, and Riff Raff, each adding their own flair of enthusiasm. “They ain’t ready,” said Sexyy Red.
Drake rang in 2025 with a bold move, dropping his “Fighting Irish Freestyle,” only to have it vanish from producer Conductor Williams’ YouTube channel shortly after. The track seemed to take aim at NBA legend LeBron James, who had been spotted at Kendrick Lamar’s Pop Out concert in June. Notably, the “Fighting Irish” reference harks back to the mascot of LeBron’s alma mater, St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Ohio.
Drake rapped, “The world fell in love with the gimmicks, even my brothers got tickets, seemed like they loved every minute/ Just know the s–t is personal to us and wasn’t just business/ Analyzing behavioral patterns is somewhat suspicious.”
