Reports indicate that Drake‘s past jab at DeMar DeRozan has come full circle, with Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadivé serving up a dose playful revenge. DeRozan, formerly a Toronto favorite and now with the Kings, made his Canadian return last weekend, his first since appearing in Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” video and sharing the stage at the rapper’s Pop Out concert.

During the game, Drake was spotted fixing an intense gaze on DeRozan from his courtside seat, later addressing him pointedly in a post-game interview. HOT 97 previously reported Drake stating, “If you ever put up a DeRozan banner, I’ll go up there and pull it down myself.” “Unfortunately, we’re playing this goof tonight, but it is what it is.” Nonetheless, at Wednesday’s Kings-Raptors game, owner Ranadivé stole the spotlight, sitting courtside in a shirt nodding to Kendrick’s hit diss, “They Not Like Us,” as Sacramento handed Drake’s Raptors a 122-107 loss.

Before Ranadivé stepped in, DeMar DeRozan had already addressed Drake’s actions directly. Pressed about Drizzy’s vow to bring down his imagined banner after the opening game, DeRozan responded, “He’s gonna have a long way to climb, I’ll tell you that.” Later, he shared a scene from Friday on Instagram Stories, featuring Chris Tucker’s character humorously claiming he only plays tough when Deebo isn’t looking.

DeRozan Stays Loyal to Compton, Respects Lamar and Drake

Recently, DeRozan shared his loyalty to Lamar while acknowledging his admiration for both K. Dot and Drake. He stated, “At the end of the day, I’m from Compton. My city, where I’m from, where I was born, where my family still lives, that comes first before anything.” “I feel like any real person would understand that. It’s so crazy because my second home became Toronto, that has one of the greatest [rappers] of all time coming from there too.”
