Drake was full of surprises while performing at Harlem’s legendary Apollo Theatre for the first time this weekend. On the first night two shows, which was presented by SiriusXM and Sound 42, the rapper revealed that he may drop a solo album this year.
According to Variety, at the end of his set, the “Rich Flex” hitmaker told the crowd, “I appreciate all of those people that stick by me. I know it’s like a cool thing … to be like ‘f**k Drake’ … but I deeply appreciate everybody for continuing to support us.”
He continued, “I’ve thought about a bunch of things in life, but at this moment in time none of those things are stopping making music for you, so I’ll be here for you for a little bit at least. And I hope I can strike up more emotions for you, maybe this year. I might get bored and make another one, who knows!”
Drake also noting that this was his first show in about five years and later mentioned, “I’ll be out and about on the road a lot this year.” During his set, the Toronto native paid homage to his “Degrassi” days by transforming the stage into his teenage bedroom from the hit show. Drake also surprised fans with appearances from Dipset and 21 Savage.
