Reports indicate that Drake is gearing up for a bold return this year.
On January 6th, the Toronto native shared a picture of a man in a tuxedo, captioning, “I’m about to get active again… Free Anita @stake.” Despite having “lost” the 2024 rap war to Kendrick Lamar, it’s possible that Drake is hinting at his highly anticipated Anita Max Wynn tour in Australia. In a recent freestyle, the rapper appeared to drop a flurry of pointers about his ambitions for 2025.
Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR Tease a 2025 Masterpiece
As hype starts ramping up for Drake, numerous social profiles suggest that he plans to make 2025 a big year for releasing new music, including a duo album with PARTYNEXTDOOR.
During his Christmas livestream with Adin Ross, he stated, “I’m loaded [for 2025].” “Me and PARTY’s [album is] honestly one of the projects I’m most proud of in my life. I’ve always wanted to make a full album of that – of our sound, Toronto sound, R&B. So it’s just the best that both of us have to offer. Listening party has to be in the city. I think ’25 will be a shift. I think people wanna just get back to like just dropping their shit.”
In November, 2024, PARTYNEXTDOOR affirmed that the project would be complete after finishing his Sorry I’m Outside Tour. The album may already be finished and poised for release, but for now, fans remain in suspense. Drake first announced the album on August 2nd while performing at the PARTYNEXTDOOR & Friends concert. He declared, “I know all you girls are outside and when it gets a little chilly, PARTYNEXTDOOR and Drake album will be right there for you,”
PND also sat down with Awaiz Punjani for a brief exchange, offering insight into the anticipated track count for the project. When asked about his favorite track he recorded with Drake, he stated, “The one we doing right now – all 15 we doing right now,” hinting at how many songs will be on the album.
