Fat Trel preaches the gospel during his new album campaign, and his latest visual for “Psalm 1” is out now. The DMV rap star’s journey hasn’t been easy, but he intends to change that in the next chapter by putting faith first.
The former MMG artist reflects on his life and takes accountability for his actions. His atonement appears to result in a promising future that begins with a new album.
Trel has been on an impressive press run that includes revealing interviews with Akademiks, DJ Smallz, and more. He discussed pasts with Meek Mill, Rick Ross, and fellow DMV superstars Shy Glizzy, Wale, and others.
Fat Trel’s influence in DMV hip-hop and streetwear is undeniable. “DC started Nike Boots, Foams, and New Balances. That’s a fact!” He promises great music on the way. He added: “You know I’m coming with more heat.”
“Psalm 1” follows the rap star’s previous tracks “Anything” and “Bury Me In Neimans.” The upcoming deluxe album follows his summer original, Boosa’s Keeper, featuring Skilla Baby, EST Gee, and Millyz. He credited his previous release as his “most personal album yet.”
Trel has had a productive 2024. Returning to rap in February, he has remained consistent throughout the year with collaborations and singles. Fat Trel is best known for his collaboration with Chris Brown.
“My manager called me and said, ‘Yo, Chris Brown just sent you a record,’ said Trel. “I hung the phone up on him. My manager called me back like, ‘Naw, for real, Chris Brown sent you a record. He sends me the record, I’m listening to it, I’m like how I know it’s him tho. He sends me Chris Brown’s number; boom, we Facetime. Chris Brown, answer the phone. I’m like, what the fuck is going on right now.”
Trel added that Brown asked him to rewrite his verse once and couldn’t get the music video done because of his legal situation at the time.
