Parenting is an important job that should always be taken seriously.
A Florida mother was fighting a neighbor, gave her 10-year-old daughter a bag with a gun, and the child fatally shot the neighbor.
As reported on the N.Y. Post, on Memorial Day (May 30), a mother named Lakrisha Isaac, 31, walked up to her neighbor, 41-year-old Lashun Rodgers, outside an apartment complex and slapped her. The report says Isaac was drunk and before the attack, Rodgers was grilling.
Rodgers reportedly defended herself, slapped Isaac back, and they began fighting. The outlet says, at some point, Issac gave her 10-year-old daughter a bag that had a gun inside. The daughter, whose identity isn’t being released because she’s a minor, pulled out the gun, and shot two rounds at Rodgers. Rodgers was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.
Isaac, was arrested on charges of manslaughter by culpable negligence, child neglect, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and aggravated assault with a firearm. She’ll remain in jail without bond and has court later today (June 2). Isaac’s daughter was released into the custody of the Florida Department of Children and Families. It’s not clear if she’ll face charges
The State Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case and will decide after reviewing. We’ll keep you updated as more details become available.
Lakrisha Isaac is set to face a judge this afternoon. Investigators say her 10-year-old daughter shot & killed a woman Monday night following a fight involving Isaac.
The child is now in DCF custody.

Rodgers’ (whose nickname Bones) best friend, Stacey Johnson, said to the outlet, “Bones will give you the shoes and the shirt off her back, literally. I’ve seen her do it. And she kept you laughing. Her humor … Oh my God, her spirit was awesome.” Rodgers’ cousin, Amber Dozier, said her cousin wasn’t a violent person, “It’s just so sad that she lost her life to this senseless situation.”
Our thoughts are with the Rodgers family.
