Future is now the subject of a new lawsuit brought on by his former girlfriend, Layla Sanad, who claims he’s the father of her nine-year-old son. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Sanad filed the action in a Florida court to establish paternity. In the suit, Sanad details her romantic relationship with Future—real name Nayvadius Cash—and claims that she gave birth to a child in 2017, who has only been identified by his initials, K.W. Per Sanad, Future already admitted to being the father; however, she’s asking the courts to help make it official.
Along with ongoing child support, Sanad is demanding that she receive at least two years of retroactive support. As reported by TMZ, Future has already responded to the court filing, asking for the case to be dismissed to “a more convenient forum.” The rapper claims that Sanad and her son live in Arizona, and that there is already a case regarding this matter in that state. The outlet also reported that in the Arizona case, Future did, in fact, acknowledge he’s the father of a son named Kash Willburn, which matches the initials mentioned in Sanad’s suit. He’s also apparently been voluntarily paying $3,500 per month in child support to Sanad.
Brittni Mealy, Future’s BM, Demands Rapper Be Locked Up Over Life Insurance Policy
Future’s legal woes don’t end there. Recently, his ex-girlfriend Brittni Mealy requested that the rap star be jailed over financial disagreements for their son, Prince. According to court filings first reported by TMZ, Mealy has asked a judge to hold the rapper in contempt over what she claims is a failure to comply with a 2023 court order. The directive allegedly required Future to secure a $500,000 life insurance policy tied to their 12-year-old child. The filing states that the policy must designate Mealy as trustee for Prince.
The structure would ensure financial protection for the child in the event of Future’s death. Mealy claims the requirement remains unmet. In the filing, she argues the rapper failed to obtain the mandated policy despite the court’s directive. As a result, she contends he has violated the order and must face legal consequences. Her motion seeks enforcement through contempt sanctions. Specifically, Mealy asked the court to hold Future in contempt and compel compliance with the life insurance requirement. She also requested incarceration until the issue is resolved.
