Rapper Future took a moment to pay tribute to his artist ZeeTheWizard as the Dallas rapper was laid to rest, and news broke of an arrest made in his shooting.
On Jan. 21, while overseas for Paris Fashion Week, the Atlanta rap star took to X with a simple tribute: “Zee da Wiz INFINITY 🕊️🦅.”
The post landed the same day ZeeTheWizard’s funeral was held in Dallas. ZeeTheWizard was set to be Future’s next protege as his career began to reach superstardom.
ZeeTheWizard, born Zec’Quire Fields, was an Oak Cliff rapper signed to Future’s Freebandz (FBG) label. A clip of Zee signing his contract with FBG circulated on social media last summer. The word “INFINITY” honored Zee’s impact and continued to promote the late rapper’s brand, 4E.

Future’s tweet was joined by fans also paying tribute to Zee as he was laid to rest. In true hip-hop fashion, the symbolism did the talking where words stopped.
Future’s post takes a moment to acknowledge life amid fame. Even from Paris, his focus stayed locked on Dallas, where ZeeTheWizard was building momentum before his life was cut short.
The Freebandz connection wasn’t just business; it represented belief, guidance, and protection in an industry where those promises are rare. ZeeTheWizard was also a part of a local collective of emerging rap superstars known as New Dallas.
ZeeTheWizard was shot and killed at PinkHouse Strip Club in Dallas on New Year’s Day. On the same day as his funeral, U.S. Marshals arrested Dallas man Dameian Roberson in connection with the shooting. Roberson is currently being held in Dallas County Jail on a murder charge, awaiting arraignment.
Future didn’t address the arrest or the case. Instead, he chose remembrance over reaction. “Zee da Wiz INFINITY 🕊️🦅” read less like a tweet and more like a vow, one rapper honoring another and making it clear that ZeeTheWizard’s name, music, and presence won’t be forgotten.
