G Herbo is urging President Donald Trump to take decisive steps in Chicago, even if it means bringing in the National Guard. When TMZ spoke with him at LAX this week, the Chicago native made it clear he believes the city needs immediate intervention. “Round up the troops … it’s time to clean up the streets!!!” he said, adding that he would welcome soldiers if their presence meant protecting “the kids and women out of harm’s way.”

The rapper stressed that his stance comes not only from his experiences growing up in Chicago but also from his role as a contributing citizen. “I’m a tax-paying citizen,” he reminded, noting that listeners can already recognize his evolution through his music. That growth is backed by his accomplishments—his track “Went Legit” recently achieved Gold certification after gaining heavy traction on streaming platforms just months after release.

Chicago has struggled with gun violence for generations, and national attention has often focused on its homicide rates and crime statistics. Trump has publicly considered sending troops into the city for some time, though Illinois Governor JB Pritzker has consistently rejected the proposal. Some Chicago residents have even taunted the idea, daring federal forces to step into the most dangerous neighborhoods.

Federal authorities are already active in the area through “Operation Midway Blitz,” an ICE initiative targeting undocumented immigrants. Those raids have heightened tensions in communities across the city while discussions about potential military deployment continue.

Herbo’s comments reflect a frustration with ongoing violence that has left families vulnerable and neighborhoods unsettled. His call for outside help highlights how deeply personal the situation is for many who grew up in Chicago’s hardest-hit areas. For him, safety is worth any drastic measure if it means children and women can walk the streets without fear.
