G Herbo is reportedly facing a lawsuit for allegedly owing over $237,000 to a law firm that assisted him with his legal troubles. The rapper has encountered various legal issues in recent years, and now the attorneys who helped him evade prison time in a federal fraud case are demanding payment. According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, the law firm Prince Lobel Tye filed a lawsuit against him earlier this week, claiming breach of contract and unjust enrichment.
G Herbo, whose real name is Herbert Wright III, is said to have hired the law firm for representation in 2020. However, two weeks before his sentencing to probation for conspiracy to commit wire fraud, he allegedly stopped making payments. The lawsuit states, “Mr. Wright has not paid and owes Prince Lobel $237,582.67 for legal work and services performed by the firm on his behalf.” This amount reportedly includes $26,542.85 in interest. The last payment made by G Herbo was recorded on December 29, 2023.
The law firm is not just seeking the total amount owed; they are also requesting an additional 1.2 percent interest per month for the time he has not paid. The lawsuit emphasizes that “Prince Lobel reasonably expected to be paid for the service it rendered and the benefits it conferred on the client.” It continues, stating that G Herbo knowingly accepted the firm’s services, which were provided with the expectation of payment. The attorneys argue that it would be unjust for him to benefit from their work without compensating them, claiming that his failure to pay has led to his unjust enrichment while the firm has suffered harm as a result.
