Gabrielle Union is setting the record straight on rumors about her undergoing a facelift.

The actress made it clear that she hasn’t had any surgeries, but rather, she’s just embracing a sleek hairstyle.

During a meet-and-greet to promote her new partnership with JCPenney, Union explained, “A high pony for a lady of a certain age is like a facelift,” she told PEOPLE exclusively.

“As much as people speculate about what happens—or doesn’t happen—with my face, if you can’t disappear for six months to get a facelift—and I’ve never been missing for six months, get it right—the high pony is going to snatch you here,” she said, referencing her sleek hairstyle. “A pony here is going to snatch you here.”

She continued, “A high snatched pony is all you need—and it doesn’t cost you a thing.” Union also addressed the importance of healthy hair, saying, “Something that shouldn’t come back: using damaged hair as the look. You know what I mean? When your color is off and you say, ‘No, it was on purpose.’ No, it wasn’t. Let’s bring healthy hair back and keep it here.”
