Kid Mero of the Hot 97’s Mornings with Mero faced his trolls head on Friday morning and delivered a series of tweets that would explicitly mention the news network CBS and it’s Editor-In-Chief Bari Weiss.
The new radio host’s tweets were sparked by fans remarks to his recent album reviews during a guest appearance on Pitchfork, released across social media on Thursday (April 23). “This shit is ass,” the Pitchfork caption reads. “@THEKIDMERO doesn’t like Tool, but what score would he give to A$AP Rocky, Oasis, Addison Rae, and Bladee? Find out in our new series Guest Editor.”
Kid Mero took to X, formerly Twitter, on Friday morning (April 24) to reveal that his appearance caused controversy. “THIS CAUSED A STIR 😂😂😂😂 #SHOUTOUT @pitchfork,” he tweets to his 298,000 followers.
Mero’s rant began shortly after when a troll insulted the Bodega Boys creator, tweeting, “What a [redacted] @THEKIDMERO f*cking failed podcaster hipster zilch.”
In all caps, Mero returned fire, tweeting, “SUCK A CONTRACTOR BAG FULLA DICK BITCH ASS PINKFACE.”
Mero’s mention of Bari Weiss and CBS occurred when another X user retweeted a tweet from the radio host shared on Thursday. Mero’s Thursday tweet reads:

Hot 97’s Kid Mero Slams CBS & Bari Weiss In Pitchfork Backlash Rant
Bringing CBS into the conversation, the X user tweeted, “CBS about to purchase Hot 97.”
Mero didn’t hesitate to respond as he retweets the X user’s tweet and explicitly addresses CBS, Bari Weiss, and others. He tweeted:
“FUCK CBS FUCK EVERYBODY OVER THERE FUCK BARI WEISS FUCK ALLA YALL SUCK MY WHOLE DICK MUTHAFUCKAS CLIPPED MAURICA ITS SLOW FOR CBS FUCK EM!!!! ITS FRIDAY MUTHAFUCKAS IM OPENING THE SALTWATER GUNITE POOL THIS WEEKEND YALL CANT TELL ME NOTHINGGGGGG SMWDFTB.”
After responding to a few more retweets about Pitchfork, Mero would address the trolls who tweeted the radio host’s new job at Hot 97 was in jeopardy. “You just tired of waking up early?,” tweeted X user @junebuggiebug in reference to the Mornings with Mero’s 6AM airtime at Hot 97 and Mero’s previous mention of staying at a hotel on his first day at the station to be punctual.
Kid Mero debunked the claim immediately. He replied, “IM UNFIREABLE. YOU THINK I BEEN DOIN THIS MEDIA THING FOR 15 YEARS AND DONT KNOW HOW TO DIRECT MY LAWYERS TO PUT A CORPORATION IN A FULL NELSON AND MAKE MY DEALS TEFLON? EXPERIENCE IS THE BEST TEACHER👹👹👹”
Saluting Mero’s response, the X user happily replied, “I love that for you and as a listener I love that for us lol.”
Other social media users also acknowledged Mero’s experience in the entertainment industry. “Bro been in showbuisness back when MTV as still showing music video,” tweeted X user @NaiZeni. “He’s been around the block twice and rolled up a blunt in the phone booth already.
CBS nor Bari Weiss have commented on Mero’s tweets at this time.
