Ice Spice is leveling up once again and this time, she’s rolling through in style. In a brand-new interview with Rolling Stone, the rap sensation opened up about her viral year, her creative rituals, and her flashy new collaboration with Mercedes-Benz.
Dubbed the “People’s Princess,” Ice has been everywhere lately, from shutting down Coachella (with Taylor Swift cheering her on) to dropping collabs with Kate Spade and riding a hot streak of Grammy nominations. Now she’s taking her style to the streets with a custom “princess mobile” as part of Mercedes-Benz’s Class of Creators campaign. Her CLA model? Chrome-plated, diamond-detailed, and stamped with her signature. “I’ve always been a fan of Mercedes growing up and that’s my favorite car,” she told Rolling Loud. “So it was a no-brainer.”
When asked who she’s been listening to most lately, she didn’t hesitate: “My most played is Cash Cobain.” As for her debut album Y2K!, Ice named “BB Belt” as her favorite track: “I just really wanted to pop my shit, and that’s what I was doing.”
Fans also got a peek into her studio process. Before recording, she brushes her teeth, sips seltzer water, and chews gum. “I have all of these little practices that I do before making new music,” she shared.
Ice also confirmed Taylor Swift is someone she turns to for advice. “She brought me out on her Eras Tour in New Jersey for all three nights, and it was nuts,” she said. “I would definitely collab again with her.”
Next up? She’s eyeing a Spanish-inspired sound. “A Spanish vibe would be fun.” With hits, deals, and even dream cars rolling in — Ice Spice is just getting started.
