Rapper Ice Spice is headed to court in January 2027 in an ongoing lawsuit claiming the “Munch (Feelin U)” hitmaker failed to pay Thee Bella Brand LLC for 25 custom-made wigs. TMZ broke the news of the legal drama on Sunday, June 7.

The dispute centers on claims by a wig manufacturer that Ice Spice, real name Isis Gaston, agreed to purchase 25 custom-made wigs valued at roughly $20,000 but never paid for the products. The company further alleges that Ice Spice damaged its business by making negative comments on social media after receiving the wigs.

The plaintiff is seeking more than $400,000 in damages, including compensation for alleged lost business opportunities and punitive damages. Ice Spice has denied the allegations and continues to contest the claims.

The latest court filing does not resolve any substantive issues in the litigation. Instead, it establishes a roadmap for discovery, including sworn testimony from Ice Spice and two additional witnesses.

A deposition is a pretrial procedure that allows attorneys to question parties and witnesses under oath. The testimony may later be used during motion practice or at trial.

The scheduled deposition represents a significant development because it will provide both sides an opportunity to examine the facts surrounding the alleged transaction, communications between the parties and the events that gave rise to the lawsuit.

The court has also set a January 2027 deadline for the completion of discovery. During that period, the parties are expected to exchange documents, conduct witness examinations, and continue gathering evidence.

In addition, the court scheduled conferences for September and December, including a settlement conference aimed at exploring a potential resolution before trial.

Settlement conferences are commonly used to determine whether parties can resolve disputes without the expense and uncertainty of continued litigation.

No ruling has been issued regarding the merits of the plaintiff’s claims or Ice Spice’s defenses. The case remains in the pretrial stage.

Ice Spice’s forthcoming deposition highlights the lawsuit’s severity.
