According to reports, Jack Harlow gave his Louisville fans an early holiday treat with two performances of his “No Place Like Home 2024” series at Whitney Hall. On November 29-30, the fourth edition of this annual event, which invited guests to dress in their finest, saw Harlow team up with the Louisville Orchestra and conductor Teddy Abrams for a unique rendition of his hit songs, reimagined with orchestral flair.
This year, Harlow injected a new level of excitement into his performance with a smooth rendition of Elvis Presley’s 1961 hit “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” Dressed in a sharp double-breasted suit with a blue shirt and black tie, he delivered the timeless ballad, his voice effortlessly soaring over the lush strings, as the crowd erupted in cheers. A fan-captured moment perfectly encapsulated the magic of the night.
Audience reactions to the packed performances indicate a growing anticipation for the rapper-turned-actor’s shift to a crooner’s role. One fan even remarked, “countdown to the ‘i’m not just a rapper, i’m an artist’ interview,” while another fan said, “og fans know he can sing.” Additionally, fans noted how it “was so sweet for Jack to dedicate this song to his grandma in the balcony. The whole show was amazing, he should release orchestral versions of all of all his albums.”
Harlow Shakes Up Brooklyn, Teases New Sound
WLKY reported that Harlow’s set extended beyond his own hits. On the second night, he effortlessly tackled Frank Sinatra’s timeless classic “Fly Me to the Moon,” dedicating the performance to Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear on Friday and to his grandmother on Saturday. During his rendition of “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” the Courier-Journal also highlighted a special moment when a couple got engaged.
Harlow dropped his first new single since 2023’s “Lovin on Me” last month, the samba-esque “Hello Miss Johnson” which he performed live for the first time at the shows. A video accompanied the song’s release on CCTV, featuring Harlow flirting with Miss Johnson’s daughter. The rapper released the track as the second single from his untitled, unscheduled fourth album, Jackman, in April 2023.
In September, at a performance in Brooklyn’s Paramount Theatre, Harlow gave fans a glimpse of what’s to come, hinting at his evolving sound with a cryptic message: “I do got some very special s–t on the way… Next time I see you, we gonna have something to talk about.”
