Jay-Z and Beyoncé have subtly addressed speculation linking them to a legal dispute with A$AP Rocky and Rihanna. As reports spread online, Roc Nation’s X account dismissed the claims with, “Don’t be dumb.” The post also served as a sly nod to Rocky’s upcoming album title.
Skepticism was already running high among fans. “People have to use their heads,” pointing out that both A$AP Rocky and Rihanna share the same management. “Why would Jay-z and Beyonce or Jay z and anyone be sueing 2 of his biggest clients let’s use our heads and stop wishing bad on these successful black people.” Another dismissed the speculation outright, “Why would Hov or anyone in relation go after Rihanna. Silliness. He discovered her and they made $$$. Hopefully we get a Hov verse on the album though.”
Fresh Off a Legal Victory, ASAP Rocky Sets the Stage for Don’t Be Dumb
Though ASAP Rocky isn’t battling Jay-Z in court, he just emerged from a tense legal fight. ASAP Relli claimed Rocky fired at him in 2021, but after weeks of testimony, jurors cleared him of all charges. When the verdict was announced, he leapt into Rihanna’s arms, her presence a quiet show of support. Now, with the case behind him, Rocky is back to Don’t Be Dumb.
Mere hours after clearing his assault case last week, he revealed the album’s title on X. Not long after, he teased a snippet of a new track, rapping, “Me and these rappers, we nothing alike.” The highly anticipated song joins previously released singles like “Highjack,” “Tailor Swif,” and “Ruby Rosary.” Don’t Be Dumb was initially set for an August 2024 release, but Rocky scrapped those plans at the last moment.
