Emerging Atlanta rapper Jayy Wick, known for the hit song “Pork Chop Sammich,” is facing attempted murder charges. Florida authorities accused the rising star of shooting a teenager during a crowded beach gathering before performing at a nightclub later that night. Fox 5 broke the news on Wednesday evening.

According to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, investigators arrested the 26-year-old artist, born Donald Anderson, in Atlanta on May 6 in connection with an April 25 shooting in Panama City Beach. Deputies allege Anderson shot an 18-year-old multiple times near a busy waterfront area filled with spring visitors.

Authorities said the rapper left the scene after the gunfire and continued with his scheduled appearance at Vibez Night Club in Panama City hours later. In a statement, investigators alleged Anderson “continued his night as if nothing happened” following the shooting.

Law enforcement later tracked Anderson to Atlanta, where officers took him into custody and recovered a firearm during the arrest operation. Prosecutors charged him with first-degree attempted murder. Officials confirmed he is awaiting extradition to Florida.

The victim survived the shooting, though investigators have not disclosed the teen’s medical condition or identified a motive. Authorities also have not clarified whether Anderson and the victim knew each other before the incident.

A security guard affiliated with Anderson reportedly became a key witness in the investigation. Local reports state the guard heard gunfire erupt near the beach before discovering the wounded teenager nearby. The guard allegedly moved the victim from the sand to a safer area until emergency crews arrived.

The arrest marks a dramatic development for the rising rapper helped elevate his national profile. The viral “track “Pork Chop Sammich” generated more than five million Spotify streams and expanded his audience across Southern hip-hop circles.

Court records have not identified an attorney representing Anderson. Officials also have not said whether he has entered a plea or denied the allegations publicly.

The investigation remains active as detectives continue reviewing evidence tied to the Panama City Beach shooting. Meanwhile, the case has intensified conversations surrounding violence, nightlife appearances, and accountability within the rap industry.
