Regarding female rappers, JT’s fashion style has always stood out from the crowd. So it’s no shock that she jumped at the offer to attend a private soiree at fashion designer Rick Owens’ home. Joining the rapper were the designer’s closest friends and family at the couple’s private Paris mansion.
Along with receiving a few smooches from Lamy, JT is spotted interacting with the duo’s family and even joined a performer hired to entertain for the night in a song. JT is a huge supporter of the fashion designer’s brand and even held a luxury birthday bash at his Miami storefront last December. While it’s unclear where her love for the brand started, her boyfriend, Lil Uzi Vert, has publically supported Rick Owens for years.
“I look at fashion as part of an alter ego,” JT says
Earlier this year, JT spoke with Harper’s Bazaar following the release of her City Cinderella mixtape. The rapper expressed her love of fashion and calls it her “alter ego.” She added, “Sometimes I’m just hanging around my house in sweats, and sometimes there are days where I don’t fully see the vision. But when I put everything together—the makeup, the hair, the shoes—I just love it.”
For JT, as a darkskin woman in the limelight, being allowed to showcase her eccentric style helps to inspire others. “I’m still booked and busy and getting respect in the fashion industry, [and] I’m having so much fun learning. [and] growing because [the fashion industry] teaches me so much every day, and I’m just a student of the game. I’m not the most tall or slender girl or nothing like that, but I’m having a good time.”
