Justin Timberlake is catching heat online after fans expressed frustration with his recent string of underwhelming performances overseas. While wrapping up the final leg of his Everything I Thought I Was tour, the pop icon’s July 17 set at the Electric Castle Festival in Romania sparked backlash for its noticeably low energy.

Despite the anticipation, Timberlake arrived nearly an hour late and seemed to rely heavily on the crowd to carry the vocals throughout the set. Videos circulated showing him frequently holding the mic out to the audience while contributing only a few lines himself. Some attendees described the show as feeling more like a sing-along than a full live performance.

One fan posted a video sharing her disappointment with the lack of effort, noting that after waiting all day for him to appear, his energy didn’t match the build-up. Many others echoed the sentiment across TikTok and Reddit, poking fun at his halfhearted delivery and comparing it to previous viral moments from other artists known for low-energy performances.

This wasn’t an isolated incident. Earlier in July, Timberlake was seen on stage appearing visibly frustrated during a set at the Lytham Festival in London. And at his July 20 concert in Paris, fans noted similar issues — with clips showing the singer barely participating during some of his biggest hits.

The backlash comes as Timberlake nears the end of his Everything I Thought I Was tour, which launched in support of his latest album. The tour is set to wrap on July 30 in Istanbul. While many fans still cherish his music, some are now questioning the level of effort being put into these final shows.
